Open Position: Mechanical Engineer

• Rapid concepting: turn fuzzy requirements into clear concepts, sketches, and quick CAD in hours/days, not weeks.
• Prototype & build: 3D-print, machine, bend, and assemble; create fixtures, mounts, enclosures, and mechanisms.
• Concept design → pilot: produce drawings, BOMs, tolerance/stack-ups, and assembly instructions to get from first prototype to pilotable hardware.
• Field bring-ups: support integration and debug on customer sites; make pragmatic on-the-spot fixes.
• Ad-hoc support: help optics/robotics/software with mechanical tweaks, alignment jigs, and reliability improvements.
• Own quality & safety: tidy benches, safe tooling, ESD & PPE, practical DFM/DFA choices.

• Robotics & mechatronics: sensor mounts, gimbals, pan-tilt, linear stages, cable/fiber routing.
• Drones/UGVs: lightweight structures, vibration isolation, payload integration, quick-swap mechanisms.
• Optics hardware: precision mounts, kinematic interfaces, alignment fixtures.
• Environmental design: IP-sealing, thermal paths, shock/vibe, MIL-STD-810 style thinking.
• Manufacturing: sheet metal, machined parts, composites/additive, adhesives/fasteners, vendor coordination.

• Strong CAD skills: SolidWorks, Fusion 360, NX/Creo, or similar; drawing standards & GD&T.
• Hands-on prototyping chops (shop tools, 3D printing, basic machining/assembly).
• Experience taking a concept to a working prototype with documented builds (BOMs, work instructions).
• Comfortable collaborating with electronics, optics, and software.
• Clear communication in English.

• FEA (SolidWorks Simulation/Ansys), tolerance analysis, basic Python/Matlab for data.
• Experience with UAV/UGV payloads, pan-tilt mechanisms, precision alignment, or rugged enclosures.
• Supplier network, COTS part savvy, fast quoting and make/buy decisions.
• Eligibility for Finnish/EU security clearances is a plus.
