Code of Conduct

Purpose

Havuja Solutions builds precision measurement systems with a small team, inside other companies' factories, under other companies' confidentiality obligations. That work runs on trust. This code states what we expect of each other and of anyone acting on Havuja's behalf, and how to raise it when the standard is not met.

Scope

This code applies to everyone who works for or with Havuja: employees, founders, board members, advisors, contractors and subcontractors. It applies wherever the work happens — our own premises, customer and supplier sites, travel, trade shows, online channels, email, and social occasions connected to work.

We expect the same standard from our customers, suppliers and partners in their dealings with our people.

How we treat each other

Discrimination. We do not accept unfavourable treatment on the basis of age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, family situation, or any other personal characteristic. This covers slurs and derogatory language. It also covers quieter forms: excluding someone from meetings or information they need to do their job, or scheduling work in a way that predictably shuts out a colleague with caring responsibilities.

Harassment. Harassment is unwanted conduct that humiliates, intimidates or degrades a person. It includes bullying, shouting, persistent belittling, unwelcome physical contact, and sexual comments, jokes or advances. Intent does not decide the matter. The effect on the person does.

Other. Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith is itself a breach of this code. So is knowingly making a false report.

Working on customer sites

Much of our work happens in cleanrooms, laboratories and production lines that belong to someone else.

Safety comes before schedule. We follow the site's safety rules and our own — laser safety, machine and robot safety, personal protective equipment. Anyone may stop work they believe is unsafe. No one will be criticised for doing so.

Confidentiality is absolute. We see unreleased products, process data and yield figures. We do not discuss them outside the people who need to know. We do not use what we learn at one customer to serve another. We do not name customers publicly without written permission. This obligation does not end when a project ends, or when an employment does.

Integrity

No bribery. We do not offer or accept payments, gifts or hospitality intended to influence a business decision. Modest, customary hospitality is acceptable and should be visible to others. If you are unsure, ask before rather than after.

Conflicts of interest. Disclose any personal, financial or family interest that could affect your judgement on Havuja's behalf — including investments, side work and board roles in companies we buy from, sell to, or compete with. Disclosure is the standard, not prohibition.

Export control. Our technology and technical documentation may be subject to export control. Know the rules that apply to your work, and ask before sharing technical information across borders or with new parties.

Raising a concern

Speak to your closest manager first where that is possible. If it is not — or if the concern involves them — contact either of:

  • Lasse Lepistö, CEO — lasse(at)havuja.ai
  • Pekka Laiho, CCO — pekka(at)havuja.ai

Concerns can also be raised anonymously at https://havuja.ai/contact.

We will take every report seriously, investigate it, and tell the person who raised it what came of it. We will protect their identity as far as the investigation allows.

Consequences

Depending on what we find, the response may be a conversation, a formal warning, removal from a project or site, termination of employment or contract, ending a customer or supplier relationship, or referral to the authorities. It may also be that we find no breach and take no action. We will say which, and why.
